Falcon Cable TV in Los Angeles said it completed the purchase of a group of cable television systems from Cooke Media Group in Woodland Hills. The systems serve 41,500 subscribers in Oregon and Georgia.
Terms of the sale were not disclosed. The sale is part of a plan by Cooke Media, a company owned by financier Jack Kent Cooke that also publishes the Daily News, to sell its various cable holdings to a consortium of buyers for an estimated $1.6 billion.
With this purchase, Falcon has more than 800,000 cable subscribers in 28 states.
