MENTOR, Ohio — Quarterback Pat Ryan, released by the New York Jets after 12 years with the team, is expected to sign today with the Cleveland Browns.
Ryan, 34, worked out with the Browns on Wednesday and will sign a two-year deal if he passes a physical exam today.
“We are waiting for the results of the physical,” Browns’ spokesman Bob Eller said. “It’s likely we will sign him.”
With the Jets, Ryan played mostly as a reserve, most recently behind Ken O’Brien. He was released in the off-season after the Jets signed Tony Eason.
