Fire Near West Hills Damages 2 Trailers
Fire damaged two mobile home trailers and blackened 15 acres of brush Monday in a mostly undeveloped area near West Hills, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported. There were no injuries.
The fire was reported at 2 p.m. in Woolsey Canyon, north of the 22900 block of Rayen Street, and was contained in about 90 minutes, said Fire Department spokesman Greg Acevedo.
Acevedo said two trailers parked in the area were damaged but the occupants were not injured. Damage to the trailers was estimated at $25,000. He said investigators were trying to determine if the fire originated at the trailer site.
About 100 firefighters from the city, Los Angeles County and Ventura County fought the fire with the help of three helicopters, officials said. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
