SAN MARINO, Italy —
Top-seeded Guillermo Perez Roldan of Argentina struggled against unseeded Massimo Cierro of Italy today but managed a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory in the first round of the San Marino International ATP tournament.
In other opening round matches, Paolo Pambianco upset American Jimmie Brown 6-4, 6-3, and Francisco Clavet scored a 6-2, 7-6 victory over fellow Spaniard Marco Aurelio Gorriz.
