Paramount Deal for Children’s Book Author: Paramount Pictures has purchased exclusive rights to the works of author and illustrator Richard Scarry. Sidney Ganis, president of the motion picture group, said Paramount expects to use his works in film and other areas. Scarry has sold more than 100 million books in 30 languages worldwide. His best-known characters include “Lowly Worm,” “Mr. Frumble the Pig” and “Huckle Cat.”
