‘Anyone Can Write a Book’

Joan Kroc was unavailable for comment this week regarding former Padre Manager Dick Williams’ comments in his book, “No More Mr. Nice Guy.”

But in an interview with The Times several weeks ago, when asked about the book’s derogatory comments and controversial recollections concerning the team under the Krocs’ ownership, Kroc replied, “Anyone can write a book.”

Pressed for a further explanation of exactly what she meant, Kroc repeated: “Anyone can write a book.”
