The Olympic Council of Asia’s executive bureau recommended unanimously that Iraq be barred from this month’s Asian Games and scheduled a vote of the OCA’s 38 members on the eve of the opening ceremony at Beijing.
Several countries have threatened a boycott to bar Iraq in protest of Baghdad’s Aug. 2 invasion of Kuwait.
