IRVINE : 3 Clothing Store Theft Suspects Held
Three people were arrested Monday on suspicion of burglary after police found $10,000 worth of stolen clothing in their car, authorities said.
The merchandise was stolen from at least 10 retail clothing stores in Irvine and Tustin, police said.
The three were stopped about 4:30 p.m. by Irvine Police Officer Clint McCall because they matched a broadcast description of suspects who had just burglarized the Public Image Clothing store at 3850 Barranca Parkway.
One of the suspects admitted to the thefts and said they were stealing clothes for “personal use” for their back-to-school wardrobes, McCall said.
Arrested on 10 counts of burglary were Sharla Thomas, 33, of Oceanside; Alfred Childress, 22, of Escondido, and Sunday Bishop, 32, of Orange. They were taken to Orange County Jail where they were being held in lieu of $10,000 bail each.
