The city of Downey is organizing Teens Against Graffiti, a volunteer effort to clean up graffiti on weekends. The crews will consist of three teen-agers and one adult. A city employee also will be at each site.

In the past year, other volunteers have painted and cleaned off more than 1,500 feet of graffiti in the city, officials said. The teen volunteer effort is scheduled to begin Sept. 22.
