LOCAL : Drive-By in Long Beach Kills 1
One man was shot to death and six other men were wounded when they were sprayed with rifle fire from a moving car, Long Beach authorities said today.
The seven were among a group of men standing in front of 170 W. Bort St. about 11 p.m. Wednesday when a car slowed down and a passenger fired what appeared to be an illegal AK-47 assault rifle, Police Lt. Norman Eriksen said.
One of those shot, Laron Randolph, 21, died soon after his arrival at Dominguez Valley Hospital. The others, whose names were not immediately available, were in conditions ranging from critical to stable, Eriksen said.
