WESTERN ATHLETIC ROUNDUP : Wyoming Stays Unbeaten, 34-27
Jay Daffer of Wyoming scored on a two-yard run with 3:05 left, and Pete Gosar intercepted a last-minute pass inside the Cowboys’ 20-yard line in a 34-27 nonconference victory over Arkansas State Saturday at Laramie, Wyo.
Sean Fleming kicked a school-record six field goals for Wyoming (3-0).
Fullback Larry Harris gained 163 yards in 13 carries and scored on touchdown runs of 91 and 10 yards for Arkansas State (1-1-1).
Air Force 10, Citadel 7--Joe Wood broke a 7-7 tie with a 26-yard field goal in the third quarter as the Falcons (2-1) held off the Citadel (1-1) at Air Force Academy, Colo.
Citadel had tied the score on a one-yard run run by Jack Douglas in the second quarter, but the Bulldogs missed field-goal attempts later in the quarter after turnovers gave them the ball at the Falcons’ 15- and 23-yard lines.
