Brunet, Tagliaferri and Forsyth’s Capital Game will tackle Gerald Kruglik’s U Bu Go and eight others as he goes in quest of his ninth win of the year in the $20,000 California Sires Stakes for sophomore trotting colts and geldings Thursday night at Los Alamitos.

Capital Game looks to remain the dominant horse in this division.

The Jack Sherren trainee, who easily handled six foes in the first elimination division of this stakes last week, must be given the edge Thursday night even though he starts from the second tier. U Bu Go, victorious in the second elimination division last Thursday, is the main threat, with Rowdy Mariah the possible upsetter from the field of 10.

In post position order, the field is as follows: Storm’s Brother, with Ken Williams in the race bike; Mosey Along, Rick Plano; Rowdy Mariah, Joe Lighthill; BH Fergus, Mark Silva; Flash Libra, Kim Vincent; U Bu Go, Mickey Difranco Jr.; Little Sur, Jim Grundy; Crown Holding, Ross Croghan; Macho Camacho, Pete Foley, and Capital Game, Gaetan Brunet.

Capital Game handled similar foes in a $15,997 California Breeders Stakes on Aug. 30, when he came away with a 1 1/2-length tally over Macho Camacho in a time of 2:01 1/5. He next raced last Thursday night in a $6,000 elimination division of this sires stakes and came away with an easy win in 2:00 4/5.

U Bu Go, from the barn of Difranco, captured the second elimination division of this stakes, also in easy fashion. The son of Storm T Collins trotted his winning mile in 2:01 1/5, with a final quarter of :28 4/5.
