Purse Sweetened for Golf Event
The purse for the Senior PGA Tour’s 1991 GTE West Classic, to be played the first week of March at Ojai Valley Inn and Country Club, has been increased by $100,000 to $450,000 in prize money, it was announced Friday.
First prize will be $67,500, an increase of $15,000 from last year’s event.
The 54-hole tournament will be held March 1-3. Arnold Palmer will play, along with defending champion Walter Zembriski. Others expected to play include Lee Trevino, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Billy Casper, Gene Littler, Miller Barber and Bruce Crampton.
