Ballpark Story a Hit

I really enjoyed Glenn Bunting’s tour of old baseball stadiums. I can see why America has such a love affair with them.

Although modern-day stadiums are more sleek, functional, technically superior and have an ultra-clean appearance when compared to their older counterparts, they nonetheless seem sterile, artificial and mundane in comparison, reminiscent of tract homes in their sameness.

In contrast, early stadiums are genuine works of art, as original and different as a Van Gogh or Rembrandt painting, with each having its unique design and distinct features and sense of individuality. In addition, they have a certain mystique and homey, old-fashioned charm to them, not to mention tradition.
