Ideas Aplenty at Ride-Share Events

Increasing public awareness of transportation alternatives is the focus of California Rideshare Week, now in its fifth year.

North County events planned for the week of Oct. 1-5:

On Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., TranspoExpo ’90 will be held at the corner of Mira Mesa and Lusk Boulevards. Sponsored by the North City Transportation Management Assn., the event will feature a Calypso band, free food and 20 different transportation exhibits, from biking to van-pooling to alternative fuel vehicles.

On Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., “Alleviate 78” will be held at Plaza Camino Real. Sponsored by the North County Transportation Management Assn., the event features free food, musical entertainment and exhibits.

Wednesday has been designated “Keep California Moving” day. Rideshare Week ’90 sponsors encourage everybody to participate in some form of ride-share that day.

Rideshare Week ’90 is sponsored by Commuter Computer, the city of San Diego, Caltrans, the North City Transportation Management Assn., the North County Transportation Management Assn., and the Downtown Transportation Management Assn.
