Driver Surrenders After Fatally Injuring Boy, 4
A 4-year-old Pacoima boy was fatally injured after being struck by a hit-run driver who surrendered four hours later, Los Angeles police said Thursday.
Jesus Rios Herrera suffered massive head injuries when he was struck about 6 p.m. Wednesday on Osborne Place near Glenoaks Boulevard, Detective Don Bellante said. He was dragged about 20 feet by the car and died about 4 a.m. Thursday at Childrens Hospital in Hollywood.
Two neighbors who saw the accident chased the car--one on foot and one in a car--but were unable to stop it, police said.
About 10:30 p.m. Michael Ray Eaddy, 20, of Pacoima, went to the Foothill Division police station with an attorney and was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run. The case will go to the district attorney for further review.
