A 5-year-old boy and a man, neither connected to a gang, were wounded in separate gang-related shootings, police said Friday.

The child, whose name was withheld, was accidentally shot by suspected gang members taking aim at someone else, Sgt. Pat Dailey said.

He was slightly wounded by birdshot fired from a car passing a North Hollywood home Thursday, and was treated at the scene by paramedics, Dailey said.

The child was standing with other people in the 5200 block of Harmony Avenue when a gunman fired at the crowd, apparently missing his intended target, Dailey said. Police later arrested three suspects and seized a shotgun.

Meanwhile, on a street corner near MacArthur Park, a man was wounded in another suspected gang shooting, Detective Bud Randles said. He said the victim, Douglas Galicia, 23, was in guarded to critical condition at County-USC Medical Center with wounds to his neck and upper body.
