Share

During a heated debate that will be televised Saturday, Oxnard Mayor Nao Takasugi was accused by five other mayoral candidates of everything from giving developers sweetheart deals to failing to bring more affordable housing to the city.

Takasugi calmly defended his record during the first political forum before the Nov. 6 elections. The forum, called the Blue Ribbon Election Special, took place Thursday in the studios of KADY-TV in Oxnard and will be aired Saturday at 11:30 a.m. on Channel 36.

The candidates in the forum were four-term incumbent Takasugi; Scott Bollinger, a private investor; John Cobian, who operates an interpreting service; Deborah DeMoss, a homemaker; Councilwoman Dorothy Maron; and John Soria, who runs a small consulting company with his wife.
