Auto Shop Worker Injured in Robbery

An auto repair shop worker was shot and injured Saturday evening after thieves entered the garage on payday and robbed three employees, police said.

The victim was identified only as Fernando Briseno. He was listed in serious condition at UC San Diego Medical Center with a bullet wound in his abdomen.

San Diego police were seeking two or three suspects.

None of the other employees was injured, police said.

The robbers, wearing hoods, entered the Vimoga garage in the 3700 block of Main Street at 7:40 p.m., police said.

The three employees were forced to lie on the floor and were bound with toy handcuffs, according to police.

The robbers took an unspecified amount of cash from the workers, police said.

It was not immediately known if the injured man had offered resistance.
