THE SIDELINES : Colts Owner Sets Dickerson Talk
Indianapolis Colts owner Bob Irsay is ready to talk to Eric Dickerson, but only if his star running back is in the right mood.
During a visit to the locker room after the Colts defeated Kansas City 23-19 Sunday, Irsay said he would meet with Dickerson “probably Tuesday or Wednesday.”
“If he’s a nice man and if he’s got his head screwed on right, I will talk to him. But if he gets up and talks about my offensive line or my players, I will leave the room. I appreciate my players,” Irsay said.
After a protracted disagreement with the Colts in which he frequently criticized the offensive line and threatened to retire unless he was traded, Dickerson came to training camp late, failed his physical and was placed on the non-football injury list. He could be activated for the Oct. 21 game against Denver.
