Do Arcadia Residents Care About City?
Do Arcadia residents care about how development, mansionization, land use and traffic are affecting their city?
Judging from their lack of interest in the city’s effort to revise its General Plan, the answer appears to be “no.” So far, at two public hearings on the draft version of the revised General Plan, the city’s Planning Commission has received a total of three comments! As written, the draft plan is too vague to serve any useful purpose, and is largely a waste of money.
The Planning Commission is holding another public hearing on Oct. 23. Why not use this opportunity to study the draft plan (available at the Public Library) and let the city government know how the public feels? When it comes to rampant overdevelopment, silence and apathy really do imply consent.
