THE SIDELINES : Mariners Fire Bullpen Coach
From Times Wire Services
SEATTLE —
The Seattle Mariners have fired Coach Bob Didier, who was demoted from third-base coach to the bullpen during the 1990 season.
Didier, 41, spent two seasons as a coach on Manager Jim Lefebvre’s staff. He was the club’s third-base coach until a miscommunicated sign allowed Ken Griffey Jr. to be thrown out at third base.
After that game, Didier traded places with bullpen Coach Bill Plummer.
