Ex-Yacht Salesman Sentenced: A former Marina del Rey yacht salesman was sentenced to 21 months in jail for defrauding five banks out of nearly $500,000 by using yacht loans to pay business expenses. U.S. District Judge John Davies sentenced Steven Curran, 42, owner of the now-defunct Steve Curran Yacht Sales, which prosecutors said was one of the nation’s largest yacht dealerships. Curran pleaded guilty June 18 to charges that he defrauded Santa Monica Bank, First Interstate Bank, Guaranty Bank, Security Pacific National Bank and Marina State Bank.
