PRO FOOTBALL REPORT / WEEKDAY UPDATE : RAIDERS : Parker on Injured Reserve, Cornerback Lewis Activated
The Raiders put tight end Andy Parker on injured reserve Wednesday with a hamstring pull and signed free agent Ken Wisenhunt to take his place. Wisenhunt spent the 1989 season on injured reserve with the Washington Redskins.
The team also activated cornerback Garry Lewis from injured reserve and put him on the practice squad in preparation for his probable return to the roster for the Raiders’ game in Kansas City Nov. 4.
Lewis returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since breaking his collarbone against Pittsburgh on Sept. 23. The team also announced it has re-signed tight end Rich Bartlewski to the five-man practice squad.
Coach Art Shell said tight end Mike Dyal, who pulled a hamstring against Seattle on Sept. 16, might return to practice next week. The Raiders will practice today and Friday, take the weekend off, then resume their normal practice schedule Monday.
