* BEVERLY HILLS VS. LEUZINGER

At Beverly Hills, 3 p.m.

Beverly Hills (4-3 overall, 1-1 in the Bay League) will be trying to establish that it, not Leuzinger (4-3, 1-1), is the team to beat for second place in the Bay League. Both have already lost to Hawthorne (6-1, 2-0), which is in sole possession of first place in the league. The Normans lost to Hawthorne, 41-27, two weeks ago. Last week Leuzinger controlled the Cougars for nearly three quarters, but Hawthorne came back to win, 14-10. Leuzinger’s three losses have been to teams with a combined record of 19-2; the Olympians have also lost to Canyon of Canyon Country (6-1) and to Paramount (7-0). Beverly Hills is coming off a 41-21 rout of Santa Monica. The Normans trailed, 21-13, at halftime, but scored 28 points in the last half. Greg Holmes led Beverly Hills, rushing for 84 yards on 13 carries, catching six passes and scoring three touchdowns. Ziv Gottleib completed 19 of 35 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns, one of 40 yards and another of 18 yards and to David Saraf. Saraf had four receptions for 97 yards. Darren Smith added six receptions for 109 yards. Beverly Hills Coach Carter Paysinger said that the Normans recorded 410 yards in total offense against Santa Monica, second this year only to the 435 yards they had in a loss to always-strong Lompoc. Paysinger said that Beverly Hills has been averaging more than 390 yards a game in total offense but that Leuzinger “will probably be the toughest defense we will have faced this year.”

* SANTA MONICA VS. CULVER CITY

At Culver City, 7:30 p.m.

This will be the first year that Culver City (4-3 overall, 1-1 in the Bay League) has competed in the same league with Santa Monica (2-3-1, 1-1) and the Centaurs, who used to play in the Ocean League, will try to prove they belong there. In its league debut last week, Culver City took a 20-0 halftime lead over Inglewood (0-2 in league play), but had to hold on to win, 20-15. Damien Reynolds, filling in for injured starting running back Lamar Wilborn, gained 89 yards on 13 carries and scored three touchdowns for the Centaurs, but he lost two fumbles. Santa Monica, not having one of its better years, is coming off a 41-21 loss to Beverly Hills.

* FAIRFAX VS. UNIVERSITY

At University, 3 p.m.

Fairfax (5-0 overall, 3-0 in the Coastal Conference) remained unbeaten with a 28-14 victory over Los Angeles. The game was highlighted by a 99-yard return of a blocked kick by Milo Bynum. The kick was blocked by Lion tailback-defensive back Mario Mattison, who also carried 10 times for 96 yards and a touchdown. Last week University (2-4, 1-1) defeated winless Hamilton, 15-6.
