COLLEGE FOOTBALL REPORT / WEEKDAY UPDATE : AZTECS : Some Players Too Loose for Luginbill
The Aztec practice Wednesday got a little loose toward the end, a little too loose for Coach Al Luginbill’s liking. Luginbill said there seem to be a few players losing interest as the season winds down. “Some people that aren’t playing are taking a different look at things,” he said. “They’re seeing things in a different light than we would like.”
Aztec notes: For the third consecutive day, there was a pro scout at practice watching quarterback Dan McGwire. Thursday, it was New York Jets scout Ron Nay. . . . Luginbill said it’s likely only three of the five running backs will see duty Saturday night against Utah. Although he wouldn’t name the three, he did say Larry Maxey will be one of them. . . . Injury update for Utah: cornerbacks Clark Moses (stomach flu) and John Louis (shoulder sprain) are the only Aztecs who are out.
