A two-alarm fire damaged a computer chip manufacturing company, a spokesman said.
More than 50 firefighters battled the blaze, which broke out about 2 p.m. Sunday at the Techna Vision company at 11463 Woodside Ave. The fire, which caused $500,000 in damage, was contained within 45 minutes, authorities said.
Investigators said an overheated thermostat in a vat of plating material inside the two-story building was the cause of the blaze.
