Fund-Raiser for Homeless Shelters Expects 500 Participants in Irvine

Share

Actor Jon Voigt is expected to participate today with about 500 others in HomeAid’s Run/Roll/Walk-a-thon to raise money for homeless shelters.

The event, open to the public, asks participants to obtain pledges from sponsors before running, walking or bicycling through a 1-mile course along Sky Park Circle in Irvine.

Last year’s participants raised more than $120,000 for HomeAid Orange County, a nonprofit organization founded by the Building Industry Assn.’s Orange County region. HomeAid has built five shelters in Orange County for the temporarily homeless, and four shelters are being renovated.
