National Football Foundation Honors 10 Standout Regional High School Players

Players of the week as selected by the San Fernando Valley chapter of the National Football Foundation include L.A. Lutheran quarterback Darren Brown, Harvard tailback Kent Dahn, Sylmar running back Tobaise Brookins, Quartz Hill running back Erik Thomas, Notre Dame linebacker Aaron Feldman, Verdugo Hills quarterback Noel Alvarado, Monroe fullback Kijana Foster, Poly fullback Jonathan Campbell, Paraclete tailback Jorge Ordaz and Antelope Valley running back Freddy Edwards.

Three members of Gymnastics Olympica, a Van Nuys-based club, have qualified for U. S. Junior national teams.

Jason Aguilar, 13, of Simi Valley, is one of five boys on the national team for 12- and 13-year-olds. Gewin Sincharoen, 14, of La Crescenta, and Matt Redman, 15, of Sepulveda, were among the seven boys named to the national team for 14- and 15-year-olds.

Athletes were selected based on testing at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., this week.
