Cincinnati pitcher Tom Browning, a free agent, expects to decide Wednesday which team he will play for next season.
The San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs have already made offers, and the Reds are expected to make an offer as well. While the Dodgers were initially interested in Browning, sources said the team is unwilling to offer him the five-year deal he wants.
Browning, a left-hander, has played for the Reds since 1984. He said he prefers to stay in Cincinnati, but the Reds will not meet his five-year demand.
