Missouri assistant basketball coach Rich Daly will appeal an NCAA finding that he was guilty of unethical conduct, his attorney said.

“We think Rich got a bad rap,” lawyer Wally Bley said.

Daly resigned along with assistant coach Bob Sundvold after Missouri was put on two years probation and penalized with recruiting and scholarship restrictions Nov. 8.

The resignations will take effect March 31. Sundvold’s attorney, Kip Kubin, said he still was considering an appeal.

Daly, who recruited several star players from Detroit for Missouri, was found guilty of providing false and misleading information to the NCAA during a hearing Sept. 28 because he said he could not remember certain events.
