PRO FOOTBALL REPORT : WEEKDAY UPDATE : RAIDERS : Anderson’s Ailing Knee Holding Up
Free safety Eddie Anderson has had recurring bleeding in his left knee since first suffering an injury against Kansas City on Nov. 4, but he made it through another game Sunday.
“Eddie came out all right,” Coach Art Shell said. “It’s better this week than it was last week.”
Anderson said Monday he isn’t anticipating arthroscopic surgery to repair the knee this season. “Not yet,” he said.
Receiver Tim Brown sprained his left ankle on the Raiders’ last scoring drive Sunday. Brown’s ankle was sore Monday, but he’s expected to play this week. . . . Marcus Allen still needs one catch to become the first AFC runner to reach 400 receptions in his career. Five NFC runners have accomplished the feat. . . . Shell said there is a chance the team will bring in a third quarterback this week if Jay Schroeder’s knee doesn’t improve by Wednesday.
