George Ballou, who served for more than 20 years as team physician for baseball’s Cincinnati Reds and football’s Cincinnati Bengals, died overnight Thursday in Cincinnati , the Bengals announced. He would have been 68 today. Ballou had served as the Bengals’ team physician since the franchise began play in 1968. He served as the Reds’ team doctor from 1953 through the 1986 season.
