The NBA fined eight players from the Atlanta Hawks and Detroit Pistons a total of $6,750 for their roles in an altercation during a game last Tuesday night.
Bill Laimbeer of the Pistons was fined $2,000 for initiating the incident by bumping Dominique Wilkins, knocking him down with his hip and pushing him twice in the game.
Wilkins was fined $1,000 for charging Laimbeer. Kevin Willis of the Hawks was fined $1,000, Vinnie Johnson of the Pistons was fined $750 and Doc Rivers of the Hawks was fined $500, each for taking part in the altercation.
Three other Pistons--William Bedford, James Edwards and John Salley--were fined $500 apiece for leaving the bench area during the incident.
