Bellflower : Sheriff’s Station Expands Its Bicycle Patrol Coverage

The Lakewood sheriff’s station has expanded its bicycle patrols to include Bellflower, sheriff’s officials said.
Two deputies on mountain-style bikes began patrolling Bellflower last month. According to sheriff’s officials, they will be assigned to Bellflower periodically during the winter and will work weekends during the spring and summer.
A sheriff’s sergeant said the patrols allow deputies to move easily through traffic and approach unwary suspects easily.
The Lakewood station of the Sheriff’s Department also has bike patrols in Paramount.
