Former child star Todd Bridges, who played in the long-running smash hit television series “Diff’rent Strokes,” was sued for divorce Thursday.

The petition, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court by his wife, Rebecca, cited irreconcilable differences.

The couple has been married a year and separated last Saturday, according to Rebecca Bridges’ court suit, which also seeks unspecified spousal support for her.

The couple had lived together since 1985 before being married Nov. 14 last year. They have no children.

The divorce suit is the latest in a series of setbacks for the 25-year-old actor, an admitted recovering cocaine addict who starred with Gary Coleman in “Diff’rent Strokes,” one of the most popular television shows in America during its run from 1978 to 1986.

Bridges spent nine months in jail last year before being found not guilty of murdering a cocaine crack dealer in a Los Angeles crack house.

Prosecutors alleged he had shot the dealer because he believed he had stolen his expensive BMW car.

Bridges has since spent his time lecturing students on the dangers of drugs and recently signed a contract to act in a new “Lassie” television show.
