Holyfield May Move to Coke’s Corner: Heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield is reportedly close to moving from Pepsi-Cola Co.’s corner to Coca-Cola Co. in a multimillion-dollar endorsement deal. The Atlanta Journal quoted Holyfield’s agent as saying the fighter is about “90%” close to signing with Coke. Coke would not comment. A spokeswoman for Pepsi also declined to reveal details of Pepsi’s contract with Holyfield or details on any talks. The association between Pepsi and Holyfield, an Atlanta native, has been an embarrassment for Coke, which is headquartered in Atlanta. A billboard that the local Pepsi bottler erected to toast Holyfield’s Oct. 25 victory over Buster Douglas hangs over a major interstate highway in the city.
