Three intriguing boxing matchups top the sports television choices on a weekend that also includes the staples of the month: college basketball and pro football.

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson fights for the second time since losing his title to James (Buster) Douglas when he faces once-beaten Alex Stewart in an evening of boxing that begins at 7 tonight in Atlantic City on HBO. Julio Cesar Chavez opens the card by defending his WBC/IBF super-lightweight title against Ahn Kyung-Duk of South Korea. At 1 p.m. on Channels 4, 36 and 39, Michael Carbajal will defend his IBF light-flyweight championship against Leon Salazar.

Sunday’s National Football League television schedule gets under way at 10 a.m. with the AFC’s most inconsistent team, the Cincinnati Bengals, playing host to the NFL’s most consistent team, the San Francisco 49ers (Channels 2 and 8). The Kansas City Chiefs, tied for first place with Raiders in the AFC West, meet the Denver Broncos (1 p.m., Channels 4, 36 and 39). The Chicago Bears visit the Washington Redskins at 1 p.m. on KMFB Channel 8, and ESPN’s 5 p.m. game matches the Philadelphia Eagles against the Miami Dolphins.
