A suspicious early-morning fire swept through a one-bedroom home in the Lennox area Friday, killing two men and injuring another, authorities said.

The dead, reported to be undocumented workers in their late 20s, were not immediately identified because of the extent of their burns, the coroner’s office said. The victims were living in a small house in the 10700 block of Inglewood Avenue, along with five other men.

The house was burning furiously when firefighters arrived at around 3 a.m., fire officials said. After putting out the blaze in about 20 minutes, searchers found one man dead in the bedroom. The other was found in a sleeping area on the back porch.

The fire apparently started in the kitchen and was of suspicious origin, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
