COUNTYWIDE : Fair Board Raises Admission Price $1

Share

The price of general admission to next summer’s Ventura County Fair was increased $1 by the fair’s board of directors Tuesday, bringing admission tickets to $6 for adults and $3 for children and senior citizens.

“There were a couple of reasons for the decision,” fair spokeswoman Teri Raley said.

“The raise was partly due to the fact that the cost of doing business simply does go up, and the board also hopes to put on grandstand entertainment at no extra cost to fair-goers.”

Raley said there will be separate tickets sold for car racing and other vehicle sports events, and that “if we get a sensational show, we will have to charge. But we intend to follow suit with what we did this year.”

The 1991 fair is scheduled from Aug. 14-25.

In addition to the raise in fair prices, the board elected Tony Caezza of Santa Paula to a one-year term as president. The board also named Michael LeBeck of Ventura vice president, and Leonard Miskel of Ventura was reelected treasurer.
