PITTSBURGH —
Outfielder Bobby Bonilla wants a five-year contract worth about $21 million from the Pittsburgh Pirates, Bonilla’s agent said.
“We feel that it gives the appropriate amount of security to someone of Bonilla’s stature and is in line with the trends in baseball,” said Dennis Gilbert, Bonilla’s agent.
Pirates President Carl Barger has said the club was trying to put together an offer for four years in the range of $16 million to $18 million.
