The Sidelines : Wright’s Ankle Found Sprained
X-rays showed no break in the right ankle of Texas basketball scoring leader Joey Wright, who was injured in the Longhorns’ 79-71 loss to Georgia on Saturday.
The injury was diagnosed by trainer Scotty Jones as a moderate sprain, and X-rays Sunday proved him correct, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
Wright, a senior guard, was averaging 25 points but had only two points when he left the Georgia game at Atlanta late in the first half.
His status is uncertain for No. 23 Texas’ next game, against Michigan at Tempe, Ariz., on Friday.
