Ed Belfour stopped 22 shots and the Chicago Blackhawks posted their first road shutout in more than six years with a 4-0 victory over the Red Wings at Detroit Monday night.

It was also Belfour’s NHL-leading 24th victory.

Blackhawk captain Dirk Graham, who had two goals, praised Belfour, saying: “(Belfour) is playing super hockey for us. He deserves the success he’s had.”

Belfour faced only 11 shots in the first two periods as the Blackhawks checked the Red Wings to a standstill.
