No. 1 Rancho Santiago at Cypress Tonight
Rancho Santiago College will try to extend its winning streak to 16 games at 7:30 tonight when the Dons open the Orange Empire Conference basketball season at Cypress.
Rancho Santiago (18-1) is the top-ranked community college team in California. Cypress (13-7), the defending conference champion, has won 11 of its past 14 games.
Cypress defeated Rancho Santiago twice in conference games last season.
In other games at 7:30, Golden West (8-10) travels to Orange Coast (9-7) and Saddleback (9-7) is at Fullerton (11-7).
Golden West (18-1), the top-ranked women’s team in the state, opens Orange Empire Conference play at 7:30 tonight against visiting Orange Coast (10-9).
Golden West, Fullerton and Saddleback are favorites to win the conference title.
In other games at 7:30, Cypress (1-16) is at Rancho Santiago (7-9) and Fullerton (14-3) is at Saddleback (12-3).
