COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Hennessey Leads Titans to Victory
Michelle Hennessey set a Cal State Fullerton single-game record with 12 steals as the Titans defeated San Jose State, 95-46, in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game Monday at Fullerton.
Hennessey, a junior from Orange Coast College, also had nine assists and 11 points. She broke her own record of eight steals set Nov. 23 against Cal State Northridge.
Center Genia Miller had a game-high 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting. She was six of nine on free-throw attempts and also had 12 rebounds.
Claudette Jackson scored 23 points for Fullerton (9-3, 2-1 in conference). Teammate Joey Ray added 14.
Pam Pember scored 13 for San Jose State (2-9, 0-2).
In another Big West Conference game:
Pacific 67, UC Irvine 52--Yvonne Catala scored 18 points for host UC Irvine (2-10, 0-3). Charmon Logan scored 19 for Pacific (7-5, 2-1).
