A 15-year-old boy was killed Tuesday afternoon when the pickup truck he was riding in collided with a car and a truck, authorities said.
Fernando Soto of Valley Center died when the pickup smashed into a car entering the 3400 block of East Valley Parkway from a fruit stand parking lot. The pickup then careened into a truck hauling 27,000 pounds of chicken feed.
Soto was thrown from the truck, according to the coroner’s office. The driver and another passenger in the pickup truck were injured and taken to Palomar Hospital in Escondido.
No one in the other vehicles involved in the crash was injured.
