Right winger Guy Lafleur of the Quebec Nordiques and center Bobby Smith of the Minnesota North Stars have been added by the National Hockey League to its all-star roster in the newly created senior category.

Lafleur, playing in his 17th season, joins the Wales Conference squad, and Smith, a 13-year veteran, suits up with the Campbell Conference for Saturday’s all-star game at Chicago.

Lafleur and Smith are the first players to be added in the senior category, designed to recognize players who have distinguished themselves by their play and career longevity. The league has the right to select one player in each conference for such an honor.
