Why Can’t We Talk?: As of this week, the nationally syndicated “Joan Rivers Show” has been dumped from KCBS Channel 2’s afternoon lineup in favor of reruns of “Quincy.” The show will continue to air irregularly on the station at 2 or 3 a.m. and will then be picked up at some time by KTLA Channel 5. Since debuting on Channel 2 in September, 1989 against the more established “Oprah Winfrey Show” and “Donahue,” Rivers’ talk program has been a ratings flop. It has pulled less than half the numbers for women between 18 and 49 and women between 25 and 54, the dominant audience in that time period, that “Quincy” earned in that same time period, according to a Channel 2 spokesman.
