1991
Many have noted that the number 1991 is a palindrome--the same backwards and forwards. But our year is far stranger than that. We can write our year as the product of two prime numbers as follows: 1991 = 11 x 181. Note that each of these two factors is not only a palindrome itself, but is the same when turned upside-down. This year will get us coming and going, and will turn a lot of things head-over-heels.
