‘60 Minutes’ Creator

I am amazed that The Times can print a profile of Hewitt without once mentioning his role in the early reinstatement of the suspended Andy Rooney, whose gay-bashing and anti-African-American remarks were published last year.

Did Mr. Rooney’s remarks somehow escape the attention of the reporter or was silence on this matter the price for getting Mr. Hewitt’s cooperation?
